He is waiting for the bone marrow transplant but the suitable donor has not been found yet.

With the help of his brother, Tooraj has launched a website, www.CancerDiscussion.com, and on this website he tries to help people who suffer from different kinds of cancers or people who one of their loved ones is involved in cancer.

What Is Hodgkin’s Lymphoma or Hodgkin’s Disease?

There are two kinds of lymphomas: non-Hodgkin’s Lymphomas and Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.

Lymphoma is the cancer of lymph system cells. Lymph system cells are the cells that are responsible for protecting the body against germs and infections.

The Lymph system cells for our body are like the soldiers of a country. They defend our body against pathogenic factors like bacteria, viruses, parasites and … .

Lymph system has several different kinds of cells that each of them has a different function. In lymphoma, some of these cells or all of them lose their control and start multiplying, multiplying and multiplying.

Hodgkin’s Lymphoma is common in younger people and the average age for it is 27.7 whereas non-Hodgkin’s Lymphomas average age is 67.

B cells make antibodies to fight bacteria, viruses and other foreign materials such as fungi.

T cells fight infection, destroy abnormal cells and control the immune response.

Natural killer (NK) cells attack abnormal or foreign cells.

Lymphocytes sometimes change and no longer grow or behave normally. These abnormal cells can form tumours called lymphomas. Hodgkin lymphoma usually starts in abnormal B cells called Hodgkin and Reed-Sternberg cells, or HRS cells. These cells are much larger than normal lymphocytes and have a large nucleus or more than one nucleus.
