Q. Can Tampons Cause Cancer?

A. The rumors did a round that use o tampons can cause cancer in women. They claimed that tampons contained dioxin, asbestos and such synthetic fibers that were a cause of cancer in women. But it does not hold water. Not any more. Asbestos was never used at any stage while manufacturing tampons. And Dioxin, which was used in very small amount, has been done away with. Tampons used as per instructions are safe.

Q. Can Tattoos Cause Cancer?

A. No there is no such evidence to support that tattoos can cause cancer. Tattoos that are darker than normal can certainly make it more difficult to notice changes in the skin very clearly. So in some cases cancer because of tattoo may not be detected at an early stage. We all notice changes in our skin if they occur overnight or gradually. But if some kind of patch or a mole (for example, melanoma is a cancerous mole) is developing in the same area as the tattoos then it may be difficult for us to notice the patch for a long time. This is the only disadvantage of having a tattoo done. No direct relation with cancer.
Q. Can use of Deodorant Cause Cancer?

A. The warnings are in circulation all the time that use of antiperspirants and dose can cause cancer because chemicals used in these can get into your skin through any kind of cut or wound or scratched acne and once it gets into the blood it can cause breast cancer.

According to the National Cancer Institute, “researchers at the National Cancer Institute (NCI) are not aware of any conclusive evidence linking the use of underarm antiperspirants or deodorants and the subsequent development of breast cancer.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration, which regulates food, cosmetics, medicines, and medical devices, also does not have any evidence or research data that ingredients in underarm antiperspirants or deodorants cause cancer.”

Q. Can use of Designer Lipstick Cause Cancer?

A. That’s a myth. People, who take the rumor forward claim that Lead in designer lipsticks, can cause cancer. If it were true would FDA (Food and Drugs Association) let it continue? Would the authorities allow so many people to use something so dangerous? Not only designer lipsticks, no lipstick can cause cancer. So go ahead and pick your favorite shade without a hitch.
Q. Can use of Garlic Prevent Cancer?

A. There is no evidence to prove that use of garlic prevents cancer. Garlic has been found useful in bringing your blood pressure under control to quite an extent but any medical research association has yet not proved that it can prevent or reduce your chances of getting cancer.
